This one is knitted as a rectangle then sewn up to make a poncho. Note if you use another yarn it will probably take more than one hank. Go by meters instead of weight.

Another One Hank Poncho

  • Materials 15mm needles. The bigger the needle the bigger and more open weave the poncho. 100gms or 200 meters of 12ply boucle mohair Tension Knit as loosely as you can. The looser you knit, the larger the poncho. Pattern Cast on 85sts and just plain knit until you have only enough yarn to cast off and sew up. To make up: There are two options: 1. Fold in half so that both shorter edges meet. Hand sew 25 stitches along the longest edge of one side. 2. Just fold in half length ways and pin with a broche at the shoulder. This way you can also use it as a scarf when ponchos go out of fashion!
